Le parrain Mika et les familles ambassadrices sur le plateau du Téléthon 2024

€ 96, 553, 593 : this is the final amount raised during the Telethon held on 29 and 30 November 2024. This result reflects an extraordinary outpouring of solidarity, driven by millions of donors, volunteers and partners who have stood by families in their fight for nearly 40 years. It is also the outcome of the outstanding commitment of our patron, Mika, and the many presenters and professionals from France Télévisions, who powerfully amplified the voices of families and researchers united in their determination to defeat the disease.

This result also reflects recognition of a strategy that has remained unchanged since the very first Telethon—steadfastly pursued by AFM-Téléthon—one that places the will to cure, innovation, and the public interest above all else.

Laurence Tiennot-Herment, President of AFM-Téléthon, praised this exceptional outcome:
“Telethon 2024 will remain etched in our memories, as it marked a turning point in our growing list of therapeutic breakthroughs, including for diseases once deemed untreatable. The extraordinary result we are announcing today is the outcome of the unwavering determination of patients who never give up, the excellence of researchers and experts, and the unique mobilisation of donors and millions of participants who, across France, answered the call. This trust is both an honour and a responsibility. Because beyond the decisive milestones just reached—notably in Duchenne muscular dystrophy, so powerfully embodied by the moving story of Sacha and his parents—many challenges still lie ahead. We must confirm these advances and expand access to as many patients as possible. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who made this simply exceptional result possible. Onward to Telethon 2025, on 5 and 6 December!”

A wave of emotion, determination and hope

Telethon 2024 brought us 30 hours of exceptional mobilisation, marked by solidarity, resilience and hope.

From Corsica to Hauts-de-France, from Firminy to Quimper, 4 million participants took part in 23,000 events that made the heart of the Telethon beat stronger than ever. Across France, the dedication of 280,000 volunteers and 15,000 participating towns generated an unparalleled surge of generosity. Once again, our ambassador cities stood as pillars of this extraordinary movement. Beyond our borders, initiatives led by French citizens abroad and committed partners reminded us that solidarity knows no boundaries.

On the France Télévisions broadcast, moving personal stories, scientific breakthroughs and powerful displays of unity embodied the very promise of the Telethon: turning research into treatments.

Relive the most powerful moments of Telethon 2024.

Mika and the families say THANK YOU!

Throughout Telethon weekend, Mika—patron of the 2024 edition—brought passion and energy both on stage and in the field, standing out for his sensitivity, contagious enthusiasm, and deep commitment. Alongside the ambassador families, he powerfully conveyed the values of the Telethon and embodied, with sincerity and emotion, the unity of this extraordinary human chain of solidarity.

Deeply moved by the strength of the testimonies and the unwavering dedication of volunteers, he wanted to share a message with all those who took part in this great collective effort to fight rare diseases:
“This result is a major step forward for treatments and research—a response to the hopes of so many families. I am truly honoured to have been part of this Telethon and to have contributed to this outpouring of solidarity that the people of France can be so proud of. I thank the teams at France Télévisions and AFM-Téléthon for their incredible work. I’m proud to be part of this family.”

By his side, Marley and Mylane, Tim, Sacha, Paul and Félicie shared their stories, their hopes and their battles—some embodying the tremendous progress made possible thanks to your support, others reminding us of the challenges that still lie ahead. Because while some now benefit from life-changing treatments, others are still waiting for the one that will transform theirs.
